Handholds

Sometimes an order needs extra attention. Easily flag the order within production.

Handholds are a feature supported for Decorator Pro producing volume in house.

As you know in production, things come up. It might be an important sample order or maybe special instructions such as a firm in-hands-date.

You have a feature that will flag these orders and bring attention to them throughout  production.

Handhold vs Priority

Flagging an order as a handheld is different then setting the priority on an order. The priority of an order is established prior to the order being submitted, either on an account level or Order Level if submitted through the API. A handhold allows you to call out orders once in production.

The priority allows you structure your warehouse based on the turn time of an order. This gives the opportunity to set up different color QR stickers so there is a clear visual within production. For example, a yellow QR code is expedited 3 day vs white is 7 days. Learn more about receiving multiple SLAs here.

If the handheld note is set before the order is received, it will tell the team member when they input the PO that x amount of items in that PO are handhold. When the QR labels are printed, it will call HH (handhold) which gives a visual through production. The expectation is that receiving pulls those orders aside to go through a high touch production flow.

If the note is set after receiving, the HH will not be on the QR code, but it will still be presented on the screen every time this order is scanned within Fulfill Engine.

Handhold an Account

There maybe value in in setting an entire account as a "handhold." This would flag every order submitted through this account as a handhold. This can be done from the account view under Tasks > Set as handhold. A common use of a handhold on an account level would be a high touch new customer that you want to have extra eyes on for the first week or two.

Handholds were designed to call out specific orders. If setting the flag on an account level, it is advised that you do so only for a short period of time.

Handhold an Order

This is the most common use of a handheld and is typically associated with communicating firm in-hands-dates with production.

From the the Sales Portal, you are able to access the order either from the Sales Portal Dashboard > Orders or from the Account.

Once within the order, you will select Tasks > Set as handhold. There is a prompt to input the reason, although this section is not required, it is recommended.

Viewing Handholds

As a warehouse, are able to view and track all open orders tagged as Handhold on the right hand side of your Fulfillment tab > Handhold orders. This view can also be found under your Performance tab > Handholds.
