Equipment and Materials

This article will walk you through the equipment and materials required for Decorator Pro.

It is not a requirement that you use our recommendations. 

This article is meant to be used as a checklist for all equipment and materials required to produce orders. If your warehouse is already operational, it is likely that you will already have most, if not all, of the required items.

If you need to source something from this list, we have provided helpful links to vendors and suppliers throughout this article.

 

General Production Needs

  • 2D QR Code Scanner - link to purchase alternative link to purchase
    • You will need one QR code scanner per production station, receiving station, and shipping station. This model has great reading capability even on damaged stickers. The on screen read out speed can be adjusted.
  • Thermal Label Printer - link to purchase
    • This is the recommended printer for shipping terminals. Does not require transfer ribbon and has continuous print.
  • Thermal Transfer Printer - link to purchase
    • If your garments pass through a tunnel dryer or your QR stickers are in or near direct heat, you will need thermal transfer printers for the QR stickers. If not, you can use a thermal label printer such as the one used for shipping. 
  • 2" x 2" QR Code Stickers - link to purchase

    • Material: Paper thermal transfer or paper direct thermal depending on your receiving station printer 

      Adhesive: Standard permanent 

      Core size: 1”

Standard sticker color is white, however it is common to use multiple colors to easily indicate rushed or special care items.

    • Mini PC - link to purchase
      • This model supports dual monitors and has enough USB ports to support all peripherals. You’ll need one for each decoration station, receiving station, and shipping station. Any HDMI monitor/s and USB keyboard and mouse will work. If you prefer to have a more mobile station, a laptop is also a great option. 
    • Recommended Touch screen monitor - link to purchase
      • One (1) per Mini PC. This is a great option to remove a mouse and keyboard at the station.

    Most any shelving unit will work, but here are some things to keep in mind.

    1. Proper height - ensure your operator(s) have access to view the top bins
    2. Easy Movement - consider shelving with caster wheels
    3. Length and Depth - ensure shelves are wide enough to place bins back to back.

      • Quantity will depend on volume but 100 is a good starting number. 9”x12”x4.5” work great for most orders and holds 1-5 shirts easily. Larger sizes may be needed for large or bulky orders. 
    • 4x6 Shipping labels
      • Shipping labels are typically free from UPS or FedEx

    The below list is based on the integration with STAHLS' ProPlace IQ.

      • One (1) per station or two (2) per dual air max
